World famous Hollywood, California is one of the best known cities in the world, however it not a city, it’s mayor is honorary, it has no city council or other city officers. It is part of the city of Los Angeles and as such is governed by the Los Angeles city council and mayor and it’s security is maintained by the Los Angeles Police Department.
What Hollywood does have is the Kodak Theatre which since opening in November 2001, has hosted a range of prestigious artists and events including the Academy Awards® Ceremonies, Celine Dion, Prince, Elvis Costello, Barry Manilow, American Ballet Theatre, Moscow Stanislavsky Ballet, AFI Life Achievement Award to Tom Hanks, ESPY Awards, American Idol finals, GREASE starring Frankie Avalon and more, the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre with it’s movie premieres, it’s cement handprints and footprints which immortalize some of entertainment’s brightest stars, the Egyptian Theatre, a 40,000-square-foot- theater complex, located at 6712 (& 6708 which is the address of retail space on the property) Hollywood Boulevard, currently consists of an operational 618-seat theater, a 6,700-square-foot tiled courtyard and a 3,080-square-foot retail building
and the Pantages Theatre, which has become one of the greatest landmarks of Hollywood, signifying both the glorious past and adventuresome future of the world’s entertainment capital.
Hollywood is also home to the Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theatre which offers top quality entertainment under the stars, the Whisky A Go-Go, the Troubadour, the Hollywood Wax Museum which takes visitors of all ages on a personal stroll down memory lane, recapturing special moments with old friends from movies, television, music, sports and history, the Hollywood Entertainment Museum which features technologically advanced, interactive exhibits, memorabilia, special exhibitions, a six-minute multi-screen video presentation and a studio backlot tour and the El Capitan Theatre, an exclusive first run theatre for Walt Disney Pictures with live stage shows and world premieres.
While Hollywood does not have much in the way of hotels it does have the recently renovated (at a cost of $35,000,000.00) Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, a Hollywood landmark since 1927, which is right across the street from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Celebrities stay there frequently, especially during premiers and other special functions. There is also the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel by Marriott with it’s 637 rooms and suites, roof-top pool, fitness room, full business center and more.
Hollywood, which had been in decline since the late 1950s has lately been undergoing it’s own renovation and while it is not yet like it was in it’s heyday, it is again, a fun and interesting place to visit.
Stroll down Hollywood Blvd., take in the sights, visit the Wax Museum, the Entertainment Museum, and the Kodak Theatre, have your picture taken with one or more of the many celebrity look-alikes hanging around, go shopping at Frederick’s Of Hollywood or at one of the many specialty shops, dine at one of the many restaurants, go dancing at Wiskey A Go-Go, take in a concert at the Greek Theatre or take in a movie at one of Hollywood’s famous theatres.

We often hear “less is more” – and certainly that is the case when you’re on the road. According to Consumer Reports 8% of passengers who check luggage report something lost or stolen, so if you can’t afford to lose it, don’t check it.
As a professional speaker and professional organizing consultant, I spend 80% of my time on the road, so having what I need – and getting it there as easily as possible is essential. Here are six things I’ve learned:
1. Choose your travel bag carefully. Some are heavy before you even start packing – and lifting them over your head after you’ve packed them requires a weight lifter.
2. If looking good when you get there is important, wearing something that travels well and is still suitable for the occasion will save valuable luggage space, and if bag is lost, you can go “as is.”
3. If you’re going to be in the same hotel for several days, consider sending ahead bulky items, such as exercise clothes or reading material, to arrive before you do. (If you require a signature on the recipient end, you can easily trace the package when you arrive if necessary.)
4. Choose clothes with lots of flexibility – for example, a pair of flattering slacks, which will work with a casual sweater during the day or a dressy jacket for evening.
5. Shoes take up lots of packing space, so when making wardrobe choices, minimize the number of colors you need.
6. Get travel sizes of toiletry items. Carry them in a hanging bag with clear plastic dividers so you can see in a moment’s notice what’s missing. If you travel frequently, always keep this bag packed and ready to go.
The most important thing to take when you travel is a good attitude. Spend less time fretting about the frustrations, and more time enjoying the opportunities, such as a time to read without interruption or a fabulous meal at a local restaurant. Keep your sense of humor and happy traveling!

In a 2006 incident, titanium tetrachloride had accidentally leaked into the atmosphere at one of the plants operated by Millennium Inorganic Chemicals Ltd. The substance is well known to be highly dangerous once it comes in contact with moisture, and the leak could have caused a major mishap in the area, endangering the lives of nearby residents. The leak was stopped by quick action of an attentive operator who shut the valve after 82 litres of the chemical had already escaped.
Following the incident, the HSE conducted an investigation into the matter, led by Mike Nind. The investigation revealed that the company had shown carelessness and errors in judgment in several aspects of the site, which eventually resulted in the incident. The company was found to have not undertaken proper risk assessment of its processes. The supervision at the site was not up to the mark, and there were some major design problems with the plant.
Employers, now more than ever need to arm themselves with the right advice and training though the direction of experts in the field. Workplace Law Training run a range of highly regarded iosh courses that could be just the ticket for you.
The company eventually pleaded guilty for the breach of Section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and was fined £40,000 as well as ordered to pay costs to the tune of £25,000 by the Grimsby Magistrates Court.
After the verdict, Mike Nind, the lead investigator, confirmed that if it were not for the alertness of the operator, the incident would have resulted in disaster. He urged the companies in the chemical industry to make sure that their safety measures are in line with the guidelines provided by the HSE, and that risks associated with different processes at their plants are managed properly.
Often, individuals will have to opt between filing for bankruptcy or permitting their mortgage lender to foreclose on their property. If bi-weekly or monthly home loan payments are not made on schedule, the financial institution will likely file for a foreclosure on the property. Not a thing shy of paying for the mortgage as agreed is guaranteed end the foreclosure process. It is the same for everyone who has not paid their mortgage, the lender will likely begin the foreclosure process. Home loans are very similar to car loans, if you do not make your monthly payments you might have it repossessed.
Insolvency proceedings are a legal act that is filed by a person who is not able to pay their debt as agreed. Once bankruptcy is filed, all current civil legal proceedings associated with the mortgage will be stopped. Legally, a home loan bank must cease all collection actions. A mortgage company can ask for relief from the mandatory stay period, and once it is allowed, may go ahead with the aforementioned process. Bankruptcy will not stop foreclosure and you still must repay your home loan. Going into bankruptcy just makes the foreclosure proceedings go forward slowly; it will not solve the issue.
While insolvency will not permanently obstruct foreclosure, it gives a person enough time to repay the over due or at a minimum makes it tiny bit easier to repay a mortgage lender. Bankruptcy necessitates that a lender to freeze a foreclosure action, a mortgage payer will have a short time to raise the funds necessary to pay the creditor. It is the final fall back for any home owner to file for financial insolvency when the home owner is completely incapable of to paying their lenders’ terms of repayment. Under bankruptcy, some debts will in all likelihood be discharged but the home loan will remain. The borrower has to be willing and able to repay the home loan within the given time as the debt is guaranteed by real property. Also, Chapter thirteen insolvency has a schedule of fees that is ordered by the court, and will allow the debtor make payments on their mortgage to get caught up to date on their mortgage payments.
Bankruptcy isn’t a guarantee. The borrower has to meet distinct criteria to qualify and if so, there will be legal fees incurred. It might cost you more in legal fees than it does to just buckle down and clear the late payments owed. If you know somebody that is considering that filing for bankruptcy might be a solution to the situation, an attorney might be able to answer whatever questions. Simply put, insolvency is very detailed, consumer should not seek to do it on their own.
This article is just standard information. This is not legal advice. You may need to contact a lawyer in your particular state with insolvency related questions.

It’s not easy to get a grant at the moment. Scholarships are not the same as a normal student loan because the funds are a grant, and thus, repayment is not needed. While searching means to fund your further education, remember that funds are available in really unusual sites, for instance left hander grants.
Financial Assistance for Left Handers: A lefty bursary may look out of the norm, however it’s worth looking at these facts: Julius Caesar was left handed, so is the president of the USA, Barack Obama. Raphael, Da Vinci, Paul McCartney also Charlie Chaplin were left-handed as well. An estimated 11% of the global population are lefties. Often considered more artistic and to be smarter, left handers have frequently gone through discrimination. Today, lefties are no longer stigmatized or thought of as odd, in fact they are frequently associated with the many great individuals noted previously.
Should you be left handed and searching for scholarships specifically for southpaw students, a lot of scholarships for left handed students are available which you may be able to obtain. A Beckley Scholarship for a thousand dollars is currently available at Juniata College stuated in Huntington, Pennsylvania. Awarded to students attending Juniata College and it was founded in the late 1970’s, this school fund helps many scholars get a college education.
Many bursaries may have requirements and restrictions. In some cases certain grades can be asked for or certain financial guidelines have to be met. Do apply for the maximum amount of scholarships feasible to give you a greater chance at supporting your university education with as little debt when you graduate as possible. Clubs, groups related to your hobbies and local organisations can offer grants. Lefthanded bursaries are not the only case; financial aid is also available if you are the child of a from a armed forces family or suffer from a disability, to provide some examples.
Researching scholarships may be time consuming, all the same the rewards can be huge. Employed in conjunction with student loans, they should cut down the student debt generated by a college degree. Leave no stone unturned in exploring each scholarship. Be aware the alternative choices in addition to left handed scholarships — be imaginative! Try for every program you may possibly qualify for, keeping your tutition debt minimal, also you will probably look forward to a better financial outlook on leaving college.

Kauai has plenty of amazing water activities and snorkeling is one of the most popular. If you are a snorkel fanatic or have never tried before, but would like to, then you will be very pleased with the many locations in Kauai that are amazing for snorkeling. The following suggestions will lead you to some of the best Kauai snorkel locations and whether you are expert or novice you will truly enjoy snorkeling on Kauai.
Ha’ena Beach State Park
In the North of the island across from the dry cave and 9 miles past Princeton you will come to a great location for snorkeling. Once you arrive here you simply need to walk down the sandy beach to the right for awhile until you reach Tunnels. Here the water is flat and the reef is a considerable ways out, but it is great snorkeling and absolutely worthwhile. The best time for snorkeling here is in the summer.
Anini Beach
Anini Beach in the north of Kauai is also a great snorkel location. Take a right on Kalihawai Road just after the Big Bridge. Stay on Kalihawai Road for just a few seconds and then take a left on Anini Road and follow the road to the end. You can then head out to the beach with your snorkel gear. The beach is wide and large and the waves break far out, so you will simply need to head out a ways before you start snorkeling.
Lydgate State Park
In the East is Lydgate State Park and it lies just past the Wilua River sign if you are traveling from the north. However, if you are traveling from the airport then take Hwy. 56 and keep going until you pass the Wailua Golf Course. Then, simply turn right on Leho Road and then you will reach Lydgate State Park. If you are new to snorkeling then this is a great location to start out with. There are also BBQ pits, showers, picnic tables, and this is just a great place to enjoy the beach, snorkeling, and a cookout!
Poipu Road
In the South there are several great snorkel locations off of Poipu Road. The first is Poipu Beach Park that is across from Brennecke’s Restaurant. Here, you can enter from the right of the sandy point and just continue to the water and begin your snorkeling expedition. You will enjoy all there is to see from fish to plant life and clear water.
Another great snorkel location off of Poipu Road is Koloa Landing. To arrive here, head down Poipu Road and take a right at the fork in the road on Kapilli Road. When you reach the stop sign take another right and continue until you reach the boat landing. At Koloa Landing, enter the water and snorkel to the coastline surrounding you.
The Beach House is also an amazing snorkel location. Here you want to head towards Spouting Horn off of Poipu Road. As you are traveling look for the Beach House Restaurant. Once you reach it you simply need to park and then head to the nice bay beside the restaurant. At the Beach House you can enjoy snorkeling and seeing the many different fish that live in the bay.
Lumahai Beach State Park
Lumahai Beach State Park is in the north of the island and is about 5 miles past Princeville. When you are driving keep your eye out for a beach trail and cars parked alongside the road. Here you will encounter Lumahai Beach State Park. Simply follow the path down to the beach and get ready to snorkel. However, this is a snorkel area for more advanced snorkelers and if you are a novice then you should avoid this area for some time because it can be dangerous.
The Entire Coast
While there are a lot of specific locations where snorkeling is known to be especially great, there are also a lot of unknown snorkel areas that are still being discovered, or hidden areas that only a few people know about. So, if you are interested in snorkeling in a particular area ask about the surf, the safety, water clarity, and then give it a shot! Also, as you are snorkeling in different locations you will come across many other snorkel fans that will be happy to share some great snorkel locations with you. The entire Kauai coastline is amazing and no matter where you choose to snorkel you will certainly enjoy the underwater beauty.
You can take these Kauai snorkel tips and check out these various locations or you can look for some on your own. There are so many places to snorkel in Kauai that you can’t make one single list. These are just a few of the known areas that are great and this is a fantastic list for tourists. If you are planning a vacation to Kauai and plan on snorkeling, then print this page out so you will have the directions and suggestions for the different snorkeling locations. However, always find out about the surf, tide, any dangerous conditions that might be present, visibility, and the like. Additionally, never snorkel alone so if something goes wrong you will have help nearby.
When you travel to Kauai you will be amazed at the snorkeling locations available to you and will have fun checking off all of the different suggested locations. Consider which locations are your favorite, and why, and then add additional snorkel locations to your list. Then, you will have your very own snorkel list to keep with you to remember the vacation as well as a guide for you when you return. An additional point is that you don’t have to travel with your snorkel gear, either, unless you want to because there are plenty of places on Kauai where you can rent snorkel equipment by the day, week, or whatever time frame you want. So, don’t weigh your luggage down with snorkel gear and enjoy snorkeling Kauai!

Bermuda is not a Caribbean island and that is probably the most common misconception about the island. Located in the North Atlantic, the nearest land mass is North Carolina, some 570 miles distant. Actually comprised of 150 tiny islands of volcanic origin, collectively Bermuda encompasses only 21 square miles of land. The locals tend to regard the connected islands as one and refer to the largest, Bermuda Island, simply as “the island”. Discovered by the Spanish captain Juan de Bermudez in the 1500s, Bermuda flourished as a colony of Great Britain after the arrival of English settlers in the early 1600s and those ties continue to the present. An internally self-governing British dependency with a parliamentary government, the official head of state is the British monarch. It is one of the smallest territories in the world (Monaco and Gibraltar are the only notable ones smaller in size).
This tiny tranquil island country is a study in contrasts. The inevitable first question everyone asks is about the beaches, “Is the sand really pink?” Yes, it is-and the water is crystal clear. Bermuda’s palette is pastel… pink, coral, green and every shade of blue. The beaches, architecture and water surrounding Bermuda display a rainbow of soft color accented by white roofs and colorful flora. Those white roofs gleam and are spectacularly clean for good reason. Fresh water is scarce on Bermuda and rainwater is channeled into cisterns for later use.
Like no other island destination, Bermuda lulls her visitors with so much charm and reserve. British formality is the rule, with subtle African influences simmering just below the surface-most evident in the popularity of Gombey music and dance. Stubbornly conservative, afternoon tea is the order of the day and traditional British values predominate. Politeness and neatness in dress are highly appreciated by native Bermudans.
King Edward’s armed forces were the first residents to modify their uniform trousers to acclimatize them for Bermuda’s balmy weather-thus, the birth of “Bermuda” shorts. Hamilton businessmen can be seen scooting about on mopeds in full business attire of jacket and tie with Bermuda shorts and knee-high socks. They are de rigueur ashore but frowned upon in cruise ship dining rooms.
Bermudans make it look so easy to zip about on a scooter and, because cars are not available for rent, many tourists get their first taste of freewheeling in Bermuda. Avoiding “Road Rash” is paramount to seeing the sights on a moped. Pick up a copy of the local rules of the road from the Bermuda Road Safety Council when you rent one, fasten your helmet and drive on the LEFT. Always on the left.
While Bermuda has dozens of resorts, small hotels and cottages, a land vacation can be pricey when you consider that the average hotel charges about $10 per person for breakfast. The best way to enjoy a Bermuda holiday is by ship. Cruises depart weekly from Boston and New York City and less frequently from other ports such as Philadelphia and Baltimore. After spending a day and a half at sea, your ship will berth either in Hamilton, St. George, or King’s Wharf (the Royal Naval Dockyard).
The most desirable itineraries are those that include the former two city ports because the Dockyard’s location is isolated, although new facilities offer a few shopping diversions and pubs. After spending a couple nights in either Hamilton or St. George, your ship will move to the other port for the remainder of your Bermuda stay. Ships at the Dockyard generally don’t reposition.
The Gulf Stream’s warming effect insures a frost free, mild climate. Cruising “season” coincides with Bermuda’s “high season”-April through October. A word of caution, this is also Atlantic “Hurricane Season” and your itinerary could be severely impacted if one blows your way. Sailing time to and from the US can range from mirror calm to rough and rocky, although the latter is uncommon.
Visitors are permitted to stay for up to 21 days (giving you 1 day to explore each square mile of the island). Extensions are only granted by the Bermuda Department of Immigration and are the exception rather than the rule.
Most expat workers tend to be from the UK, Canada, Ireland, the Caribbean and the US. There’s a strong Italian contingent in the hospitality industry and growing numbers of Filipinos and Indians. Don’t even think about coming to Bermuda as a tourist and trying to find work. Not only is it illegal, but is likely to be futile and will definitely be expensive. The last thing employers want to get is a bad name with the Department of Immigration. Any sensible employer won’t even look at you.
If you want to get a job in Bermuda you must be off the island when you apply. All positions must be open to Bermudians first; only if there are no suitable applicants can a non-Bermudian be hired. Good places to look for potential employment are specialist recruitment agencies and the websites of local businesses. The Royal Gazette, Bermuda’s daily newspaper carries a wide range of advertisements on their website. Presuming you are successful in your quest for a job, there are a number of issues to be considered when relocating. While the salaries paid are very good, the cost of living is quite high. Most contracts are for a maximum of five years, renewable at the employer’s option. And becoming a permanent resident in next to impossible. Even if you marry a Bermudian, you won’t be eligible for citizenship for ten years at the earliest.

Going on a long car trip with your children can be challenging no matter what their age. Young children and older children have trouble sitting still for long periods of time and can become bored, cranky, irritated among other things. The trick to help prevent this from happening is to prepare well in advance and be a step ahead of them.
The first thing you need to do is throw away the tight schedule of how long you think the trip should take. For instance, a seven hour trip to the beach is no longer going to take seven hours. You can expect it to take nine to ten hours depending on your child’s age. Babies need to eat on a certain schedule, toddlers need to stretch their legs and children who are just learning to go to the bathroom on the potty need more trips to the potty. Be prepared to stop and just add that into the time. Look for malls, Target stores or other places that you can stop along the way where children can run and use the rest room.
Pack plenty of snacks and drinks. If you know that your toddler likes a mid-morning juice or an afternoon snack, you can potentially avoid having to stop for these things if you keep them at hand. If you are just 30 minutes from your destination and they are getting hungry for dinner, a small snack can hold them off until you check into your hotel or park the camper.
If you have a DVD player in your car, take along their favorite movies, the ones that you know will hold their attention. If you take trips on a regular basis, you might want to consider purchasing a DVD player for your car. You can also buy a new DVD for the road, but come prepared with others that they like just in case they aren’t thrilled with the new DVD.
If it is a trip that will take over 12 hours, consider dividing the trip into two days. Perhaps you can leave in the afternoon, stop for dinner and get a few more hours of driving time in while they sleep. You can wake up the next morning, refreshed and ready to take on the hours of travel that you have left. If you can get up in the morning, jump out of bed and walk out the door, you can get a couple of hours of driving in before you stop for breakfast.
Bring along books, magazines, toys and car games to occupy time. Older children can play games such as the license plate game where they try to find a license plate from all 50 states. Make the toys accessible so you can easily swap them out.
The best way to make it through a car trip with children is to be prepared, be patient and be flexible. Turn the trip into an adventure and part of the vacation itself. Stop at attractions along the way. Take time to let everyone stretch their legs. Bring along plenty of things to occupy their time. If you can follow all of these tips it is sure to be a more pleasant trip for everyone.
