| Competition Rises with Gaming Laptops | Comments Off |
Just a while ago it seemed like fast laptops were only being made by a few specialist resellers and were built to order, not mass produced. The sales figures were never very good but they did make great profit on each system than others. They were the kind of notebook computer that everyone wanted, however the cost did not come in their budget. I think you could say they were the best laptop computers available, at least performance wise. Despite the buzz created I don’t believe they were good sellers because I don’t think people would buy laptop computers instead of desktops as they were so expensive. Greater known companies have recently introduced their own gaming laptops so its all changing as we speak.
If mass produced, companies can make giant revenues on gaming portables. It is a great opportunity for them to regain gross markup as the markup on standard notebooks are so small nowadays. In my point of view well known companies can utilise leverage to get prospects to buy laptop computers despite the price. I don’t know what this will do to smaller retailers however it will have a bad effect on them. I say this because now the technology which was once special and high priced is now getting standard. Clearly the association of a familiar brand name comes into play here.
The established brands latest notebooks are getting a fair amount of accolades as being the best laptop computers from the IT journals. This surely should provide some hope to the smaller competitors. The customizations feature is a big plus to the customer. Consumers that purchase high spec notebooks will normally look past the frills. The fine point are of great importance for this sort of consumer.
As a possible prospect myself this is really all a good thing for me. It will make prices to slip and make the latest technology low priced for people. Its difficult to say what will happen to be honest as the industry is a fast moving one. Different laptops are always being released and these latest models usually start at premium prices. Strong Competition usually drives companies to do more and give increased value so that appears promising.
