There is a new product that allows you to take your old film and scanning yourself onto your computer. This product is called being of Veho’s USB negative scanner. This device is just a small scanner that you can feed your film through it at once the scanned it will transfer the image digitally through your USB port onto your computer. This is very important because film will not last forever and it easily damaged.

Inside the box you will receive the scanner itself along with a USB cord that will plug into your computer. You will also receive two separate trays that are used to load your film in. And finally you will receive the software for your computer that will run this program along with a basic photo editing program which is a must have when you are scanning film. For most photos that you scan digitally you will need to do some photo editing to it to make the photo more visible and higher quality. Some of the teachers of the software include cropping, resizing, and adjusting brightness and contrast. Be prepared to spend some time using the software because most likely your film is not in perfect condition and the scanner will copy whatever it sees. It would also be a good idea to attempt to clean up your film prior to scanning in case there are any smudges on it.

Each photo that you scan will come out to a high quality of five megapixels and the picture size of 2592 x 1680 in dimension. Some people might notice that the scanning process is slow but most likely this will be due to their computer speed and not the scanner or software itself. But that doesn’t seem to be the issue then you might want to check your USB ports to make sure they’re the same specifications required by the scanner.

Since film scanning has started Veho has been the leader for this type of device. There are plenty of different versions out there and I would recommend that you get the newest version possible. By doing this you will always get the highest quality and that comes to play a big role in what you’re doing film scanning. I highly advise that you check the specifications of the scanner prior to buying since not every size film is compatible with every scanner.
